Career Opportunity – Pub Manager
The Pub Manager is responsible for the handling of all of the administrative and operational duties of Dave’s Pub & Grill. This includes the supervision and coordination of the Assistant Manager, Servers, Bartenders, Bussers and their areas of responsibility.
Reports To: Senior Management
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing high standards of service that are responsive to the needs of our guests
- Manage all aspects of staff training, development and performance of all Clubhouse staff consistent with Oakwood Resort policies, Health and Safety guidelines and Employment Standard laws.
- Responsible for forecasting business levels and service requirements accurately
- Maintain excellent communication with all Food & Beverage Department personnel.
- Manage expenses, labour and material resources directly related to the clubhouse operation
- Establish selling price of liquor, beer, wine to meet sales objectives and manage and report inventory and cost of sales monthly
- Maintain excellent communication with Executive Chef
- Assist in formulation of long range plans for the food and beverage department, assist with budget development and prepare monthly food and beverage performance reports
- Responsible for administering department’s payroll via ADP EZLabour
- Responsible for handling customer complaints
- Coordinate ordering liquor, beer and other supplies with D/R & Banquet Manager
- Organize and administer Banquet Event Orders for all clubhouse functions
- Performs annual performance appraisals with results being submitted to HR
- Responsible for the hiring, scheduling, training of new personnel and disciplining and terminating personnel when required
- Required to attend all management meetings scheduled
- Responsible for monthly inventories
- Assist group conveners as required
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to the legislation set out by Occupational Health and Safety, including
- Performing workplace inspections, employee safety observations
- Conducting information sessions, incident investigations, employee training
- Correcting substandard acts or conditions
- Commending employee and supervisor health and safety performance
- Assist with other related duties, as required
- As an Oakwood employee, responsible for the ongoing general appearance of the Resort property. This entails allocating found garbage in the appropriate areas.
Qualifications include:
- Education:
- Minimum Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong team building skills
- Professional Certification:
- Smart Serve
- Experience:
- minimum 2 years of supervisor experience in restaurant industry
- minimum 2-5 years experience in hotel industry, preferably in food and beverage department
Working Conditions:
This is a full time position, seasonal that requires 40 plus hours a week. It is required to be available days, evenings and weekends, based on the occupancy of the resort.
Physical Requirements:
This position is physically demanding, with heavy lifting, carrying requirements necessary.
