Colin Scatcherd, CPGA
Director of Golf

[/mk_fancy_title]

Born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii Colin Scatcherd has been golfing most of his life. Instilled with a love of the game from an early age he picked up his first set of clubs at age six and hasn’t put them down since. Working at courses including Hampton Cove in Alabama, the Renaissance Vinoy in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Palheiro Golf Course on Madeira Island in Portugal golf has taken Colin across the globe for both work and tournaments.

Colin has been involved with golf at Oakwood Resort since he was twelve years old. Even while studying at New England College in New Hampshire where he completed his undergrad, followed by Humber College where he graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program, he would always return to Oakwood during the summer to work, play and to teach. He began working in the Pro Shop as a teenager, becoming assistant manager, then manager and was promoted to Director of Golf at Oakwood Resort in 1999.

Turning professional in August 2000, Colin has competed in many tournaments as well as long drive competitions. He currently shares the Oakwood Course Record of 60 (10 under par) with Gary Cowan and Kelly Roberts. Colin’s love of golf is evident in his passion for teaching the game and helping others to improve and have more fun while they play. Colin has been teaching for over twenty-five years working with both kids and adults of all skill levels. Focusing on the mental aspects of the game and using target based teaching to help his students realize and achieve realistic goals as they improve their skills and game, his students improve and mature in the game naturally.
