History of Oakwood Resort
Oakwood Resort has a rich history dating back over 100 years. The resort’s journey began in 1917 when Mr. Clayton Walker acquired a stretch of lakeside land. Building works commenced in 1919, and by 1922, the doors of the resort swung open to the public. Over the years, the resort underwent significant growth, including the unveiling of the first nine holes of the golf course in 1926 and the establishment of the Oak Dining Room in 1930, a cherished feature that remains in operation today.
