We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Responsible for minor plumbing, electrical repairs
• Required to fix locks, make keys for requesting managers and departments
• Repair dry wall, tiles, fix leaky rooms and change air conditioners
• Clean eaves troughs, winterize buildings, repair and maintain fireplaces
• Responsible for any remodeling and refinishing required
• Generally responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, inside and outside
• Assist in any emergency repairs
• Check pool chemicals daily
• Check logs for any repairs necessary
• Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment adhering to the legislation set out by Occupational Health and Safety
• Perform daily visual workplace inspections
• Attend safety talks, and staff meetings
• Participating in the accident/incident investigation program
• Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
• Assist with the training of new employees
• Report to supervisor/manager any health and safety violations
• Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Assist with other related duties, as required
• As an Oakwood employee, responsible for the ongoing general appearance of the Resort property. This entails allocating found garbage in the appropriate areas.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, or equivalent
Specialized knowledge of general home repairs, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, tile work and/or equivalent experience
Knowledge of all maintenance tools
Some previous experience preferred

Physical Requirements

This position requires focus and mobility
The successful candidate must be able to deliver upon the following physical requirements of this position on a daily and ongoing basis:
- Frequent walking between all buildings
- Ability to traverse up and down multiple flights of stairs frequently
- Frequent and ongoing standing and physical movement
- The candidate in this position must be in good physical condition, and to be able to accomplish all the physical tasks necessary to perform in this role daily
- Acknowledgement that a tour has been taken of the property and work areas to your satisfaction and that you are aware of the physical demands of the stairs, standing and walking back and forth to and from our buildings daily for the duration of your shifts
